Batik prints: Western and European images have influenced the images of batik prints on fabrics used for clothing and accessories. Batik, and Adinkra are forms of textile prints in Asante, and in Ewe cultures. The prints can range from anything significant in their culture such as shapes in forms relating to spiritual beliefs such as crossroads, wealth or deities. In this image the batik prints are of common symbols used juxtaposed to contemporary batik prints of President Obama. This limited edition wax print pattern was made in especially in commemoration of Barack Obama's Presidency, and his visit to Ghana, West Africa.This is an example of how Western culture has affected African art.
